A surgical procedure was performed at Homs University Hospital to remove a retroperitoneal mucinous cystadenoma, not associated with the ovarian. This is an extremely rare tumor: only 55 similar cases have been recently reported in the medical literature , representing less than 0.2% of retroperitoneal tumors. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The patient, aged about sixty, went to the general surgery clinic complaining of persistent abdominal pain, centered in the left iliac fossa. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

A CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis (with contrast injection) showed a left pelvic cystic formation measuring 13 x 12 x 11 cm, filling the pelvis. <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The surgical history indicates that the patient had undergone four previous pelvic surgeries, the most recent of which was a hysterectomy with adnexectomy <\/p>\n
