The Quality Assurance Unit has carried out a range of academic and training activities which aim at enhancing the quality of educational process, empowering students academically and professionally, and linking academic education to the requirements of labor market.
The activities included the event ” Mufadalati Ashal” (My Admission Selection is Easier) which was organized for the high school students and involved instructions for choosing the university specialization, introducing the university life, and highlighting the common mistakes in admission procedures, as about 500 students benefited from that event.
In addition, the faculty implemented a training program entitled “Graduation project- the first step to enter labor market”consisting of 20 training hours. It focused on choosing the graduation project topic, research methodologies, time planning, scientific documentation, presentation skills, and building a resume.
In the same context, the faculty organized “Al-Hamk Forum for Quality and Academic Empowerment,” which aimed to enhance communication between students and the industrial and research sectors through dialogue sessions, specialized workshops, and the provision of internal and online training opportunities, in addition to honoring outstanding applied graduation projects, with the participation of more than 300 students.
A specialized workshop was conducted and addressed the basic soft skills for entering the labor market, and another workshop was held to direct the first year students and focused on the academic and professional path of students from the beginning of their enrollment at the university.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam El-Deen, emphasized that such activities come within the framework of the university’s continuous endeavor to develop higher education and promote a culture of quality, in line with the needs of the labor market and contributing to the preparation of qualified engineering personnel.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Prof. Muhammad Bakir, indicated that the college continues to implement quality programs that support students and improve the outputs of engineering education.
Director of the Quality Assurance Unit at the faculty, Prof. Aqel Mando, pointed out that the activities and workshops organized by the unit during the current academic year aim to enhance students’ academic and professional skills from the beginning of their university journey until graduation, stressing that these efforts contribute to preparing graduates who are able to compete effectively in the labor market and achieve engineering excellence.
