A master thesis entitled “The role of electronic payment systems in enhancing the competitive position of hotel establishments ( a field study on five star hotels in Damascus governorate) was discussed by the researcher Alaa Ibrahim Ayyoub at the Faculty of Tourisum,
under the supervision of Prof. Haithm Ahmed Hasan.
The judging panel comprised the following professors: Prof. Munther Al-Nasser, Prof. Razan Khalil, and Prof.Haitham Hassan.
The research aims to determine the role that electronic payment systems, with their dimensions (security, ease of use, cost, acceptance), play in enhancing the competitive position of hotel establishments, in addition to achieving the following objectives:
1- Highlighting the concept of electronic payment systems and their importance.
2- Guaging the interest of hotel establishmentsin electronic payment systems and their application.
3- Demonstrating the importance of new methods in increasing market share and enhancing the competitive position of the establishment.
4- Explaining the important role of electronic payment systems.
the end of the discussion, the researcher was awarded a master’s degree with a very good grade.
