A master thesis entitled “The effect of oil spillage on soil properties and expected settlement values ​​therein” was discussed by the researcher Leen Muhammed Basel Rjjoub at the Faculty of Civil Engineering,

under the supervision of Prof. Najla Al-Hasan.

The judging panel comprised the following professors: Prof. Maan Hilal, Prof. Najla Al-Hassan, Lina Kraket

The results contribute to understanding the behavior of crude oil-contaminated soils and to studying the environmental problem from a geotechnical point of view.

This research also constitutes a scientific contribution to geotechnical studies, especially with the rarity of specialized research on the impact of contaminated oil on soils in Syria.

 

At the end of the discussion, the researcher was awarded a master’s degree with a very good grade.
