A training course entitled “From Idea to Outcome: The Journey of a Researcher in Designing Experiments and Statistically Analyzing Data” has been launched at the Faculty of Agriculture at Homs University, in cooperation with the Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation. The three-day course witnesses the participation of teaching and technical staff members, as well as postgraduate students.
The Vice-President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Muhammad Masri, emphasized that the course reflects the university’s keenness to empower researchers with statistical analysis tools and modern software as a cornerstone for building rigorous scientific research that serves development issues.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Sameer Shamsham, pointed out that statistical analysis is the mean to transform research ideas into accurate and reliable results, calling on participants to reinforce science through practice and application.
The course covers a range of vital scientific topics, starting with the fundamentals of selecting experimental designs and appropriate statistical analysis methods, moving through the questionnaire from design to results analysis, and culminating in applications in agricultural and animal experiments. The course also includes intensive practical training on approved statistical software such as Minitab and SPSS. The sessions are presented by Dr. Ruba Saif Askar, Dr. Marwa Al-Jammas, and Dr. Muhammad Salah Al-Zuhouri. This event underscores Homs University’s commitment to supporting the scientific research system and training researchers according to the highest standards and modern statistical tools.
