In cooperation with the National Union of Syrian Students, the Directorate of Student Activities of Al Baath University, organized a free training course in the field of “ Arabic calligraphy“, with the participation of 50 trainees.
President of Al Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, indicated that the Arabic calligraphy course is one of the most important courses that interest in aesthetic and artistic values, indicating that the objective of this course is to train young people on Arabic calligraphy and provide them with the expertise necessary to practice it. He also stressed that the course program runs on “a set of axes that aim at teaching the correct rules in the practice of writing, especially that the Arabic calligraphy is considered one of the most beautiful abstract arts”.
Prof. Abdul Karim Al Abdo, Director of Student Activities at Al Baath University and trainer of the course, highlighted the importance of this course organized for the first time by the Directorate of Student Activities of the university, due to the information provided to trainees on calligraphy.
Prof. Muhammad Salman, trainer of the course, indicated that the course lasted for five days, during which efforts were intensified to introduce the trainees to the types of calligraphy and train them on Ruq’ah script, indicating that other courses will be organized later.
