Under the scientific cooperation agreement between Al-Baath University and Homs Chamber of Industry, the university and Al-Matin Private Company honored 11 trainees from the Faculty of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and master’s students, who participate at the second session of the training program “A Step of Hope” for new graduates. President of Al-Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, emphasized the importance of the training program within industrial cities in the process of linking the academic information that students have received during their university study with the practical applications in factories and laboratories, and the enhancement of their capabilities and experiences through real work activities. He also stressed that such training programs qualify them to enter the labor market with high efficiency and lead to the economic development. Deputy Director of Al-Matin Company, Mr. Waseem Al-Ikhwan, has pointed out that the training program contributes to developing the scientific and practical experiences of the university graduates, integrating them into society and its institutions, and helping them in finding job opportunities, especially in the reconstruction phase . It is noteworthy that the scientific cooperation agreement was signed between Al-Baath University and Homs Chamber of Industry in 2020, and the training program for new graduates was opened by Al-Matin Company within the framework of activating this agreement. The meeting was attended by the university vice-president for scientific affairs, Prof. Maan Salameh.
