As part of the promotion of cooperation between academic institutions and industrial sectors, the President of Homs University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al-Khatib, has received a delegation from Hassia Industrial City, headed by its director, Eng.Talal Zaib, to discuss ways of joint cooperation between the two sides.
The meeting has discussed the importance of linking higher education outcomes with labor market needs, and activating partnerships in scientific research, training, and industrial development. It has also emphasized the significance of facilitating practical training opportunities for university students with the aim of enhancing their skills and their integration into the labor market.
It’s worth noting that Homs University and Hassia Industrial City have signed a scientific cooperation agreement in 2019, which has constituted a framework for joint work and exchange of experiences.
President of Homs University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al-Khatib, has indicated that this meeting is an advanced step towards the integration between higher education and the industrial sector. Moreover, he has stressed the university’s efforts to strengthen its role in serving the community and economic development by directing scientific research to meet the needs of the industrial sector and develop the academic programs in line with the requirements of development and the labor market.
Prof. Al-Khatib has also pointed out that cooperation is enhanced by conducting master’s and doctoral dissertation researches on the ground, and contributing to the development of curricula to keep pace with the requirements of industrial and knowledge development.
For his part, Eng. Talal Zaib expressed his appreciation for Homs University and its interest in strengthening its partnership with the industrial city
