The Faculty of Health Sciences – Office of Professional Practice – has organized a training course entitled “Fascial Distortion Model Techniques” with the aim of enhancing practical skills in the field of physical therapy. This course is part of the university’ commitment to develop the scientific and professional skills of students and graduates, and to enhance its role in connecting the university to the community.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, affirmed the university’s continued support for organizing such quality training courses, which contribute to qualifying graduates and enabling them to enter the labor market with efficiency. In addition, he has noted that these initiatives are compatible with the university’s mission to meet the community’s needs for advanced sciences and specialized personnel.
For his part, Prof. Hazem Dahman, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, has pointed out the importance of the course, as it constitutes a qualitative addition to the development of the skills of the physical therapy graduates. He has also explained that the faculty has developed an integrated plan to hold a series of advanced training courses during the coming period, indicating that the number of participants has reached approximately 55 trainees who are graduates of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Al-Rasheed International Private University in addition to trainees holding certificates from relevant intermediate institutes.
Prof. Salah Ghazi, the Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs and supervisor of the current training session, has indicated that the training topics included an introduction to the principles of fascial distortion and learning techniques for applying them to musculoskeletal injuries, such as shoulder, knee, and ankle pain.
At the conclusion of the course, certificates of attendance were distributed to the participants in appreciation of their active participation and commitment. The event was attended by a number of faculty members and representatives from the faculty’s deanship.
