Homs University, represented by the Faculty of Medicine and the university hospital administration, signed a letter of intent with representatives of the American organization MedGlobal after completing the necessary administrative procedures, to develop the medical education and health services in Syria.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, has indicated that this agreement enhances the university’s position as an academic institution open to international cooperation, as it supports distance medical education and enables students to access global scientific sources. He has added that practical training and fellowships provide an excellent opportunity for honing their clinical skills,
noting that this agreement opens the door to joint projects in the field of scientific research, raises the scientific production level at the university and provides technical and logistical support for publishing distinguished research in refereed scientific journals.
In turn, president of MedGlobal, Dr. Zaher Sahloul, has pointed out that the agreement supports the educational and research process and improves the medical services at the university hospital, as MedGlobal contributes to supporting infrastructure and medical equipment. He has also indicated that the organization helps to establish specialized units that serve the educational and therapeutic process, and to qualify nursing staff in line with international standards and advanced clinical protocols and hospital management.
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Talal Habboush, has referred that the organization provided in-kind assistance, medical equipment and vaccines, and offered training and specialized scientific lectures .
