Students’ graduation projects on the city reconstruction have been discussed at the Faculty of Architecture, , in the presence of the university president, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, the faculty dean, and a number of faculty members.
The projects presented planning, urban, and architectural designs for damaged neighborhoods and areas, proposing creative solutions to contemporary problems in the built environment, taking into account aesthetic and functional aspects and integration with the urban context.
This step comes as part of the students’ tendencies to study the local realities and present scientific and practical proposals to support reconstruction efforts in Homs, reflecting the academic and cognitive level they have attained during their years of study.
Prof. Houssam ElDeen emphasized the importance of supporting these initiatives, which reflect the spirit of innovation among university students, noting the university’s efforts to connect educational outcomes with community needs and encourage applied research and projects that contribute to developing the urban environment in Syria.
The discussions concluded with an emphasis on the importance of these projects as a first step in the scientific and professsional career that opens up broad prospects in reconstruction and sustainable development.
