President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, has chaired the periodic meeting of the council, in the presence of the university vice-presidents, university secretary, and the faculty deans. The council has discussed a number of academic and administrative issues, most notably the ongoing preparations for the admission sorting and supplementary exams.
The council has reviewed the preparations for admission sorting in cooperation with the student union at the university, with an emphasis on preparing technical and administrative staff, providing support and guidance to students, and working on the digital infrastructure to disseminate information and instructions via official platforms and ensure smooth and clear procedures.
It has also discussed the preparations for supplementary exams for students who have failed four courses or less. Prof. Houssam ElDeen has stressed the need to provide a suitable examination environment and ensure clear instructions and questions, so the actual scientific level of students is fairly assessed. Moreover, he has praised the faculty efforts in organizing the examination process during the second semester.
Regarding second semester exams, the university president has emphasized the importance of issuing the remaining results quickly and accurately especially those for final year students, so they can take the supplementary exams on time. In addition, he has confirmed the importance of coordination between faculties and the central administration for accurate results and rapid issuance.
