Council of Homs University has held its periodic session chaired by the university president, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, in the presence of the university vice-presidents, university secretary, faculty deans, and the director of university hospital.
The university president began the session by the resolution No. 638 issued by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which stipulates the appointment of 20 faculty members to academic positions, including the appointment of five new deans of faculties.
The council congratulated the newly appointed members, wishing the new deans success in carrying out their duties.
In addition, it stressed the importance of the next phase in enhancing the quality of education and developing institutional performance, and thanked the previous deans for their efforts.
Moreover, it congratulated Prof. Fahed Sharabati on his appointment as the director of the university hospital.
The council also reviewed the progress of open education exams, stressing the need to issue results within a specific time frame, so students can continue the procedures of graduation or registration without delay.
Furthermore, it approved a number of items on its agenda, including the registration of some master’s theses in various disciplines, and the approval of awarding doctoral degrees to a number of researchers who have met graduation requirements in accordance with approved academic regulations.
The previous decisions reflect the university’s commitment to supporting scientific research and enhancing the postgraduate studies, contributing to the development of knowledge and serving society.
