Entrance exam for the Faculty of Music Education has finished, and 78 students from various Syrian governorates took the exam in an academic atmosphere characterized by discipline and transparency under the supervision of a specialized scientific committee of music professors.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, has emphasized that the university gives particular attention to the faculties of creative and artistic nature for their role in promoting cultural and artistic identity within society. He has also noted that the faculty is a scientific edifice that contributes to providing Syria’s cultural and artistic movement with highly qualified musical talent and expertise.
In turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Music Education, Prof. Ezzat Khalouf, has explained that the entrance exam covered three main topics: playing a musical instrument, singing, and musical culture with reading solfege, under the supervision of a specialized committee and over a specific period of time. Moreover, he has pointed out that the faculty is the only one of its kind in Syria, and is concerned with fostering creativity, musical culture, and developing talents at the national level. He has stressed that its graduates have proven a distinguished presence locally and internationally as professional and creative musicians in the field of fine art.
The exams concluded in an atmosphere of optimism and determination among the students, who expressed their desire to join this distinguished academic institution, reflecting the university’s ongoing mission to embrace creativity and build a musical generation.
