The Faculty of Pharmacy at Homs University organized an annual scientific event titled “Scientific Day of Outstanding Graduation Projects” attended by the university president, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, the vice president for scientific affairs, Prof. Walid Khadem, the faculty dean and his deputies, along with several faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
The event presented graduation projects carefully selected by a specialized scientific committee to highlight the students’ scientific excellence through works taking into account the research needs and reflecting the level of seriousness and skill in applying academic knowledge.
The projects varied in their topics and research methods, indicating the development of students’ scientific and research thinking.
Prof. Houssam ElDeen emphasized that such events represent an important step in encouraging students who used the knowledge acquired during their years of study and excelled in their projects, pointing out that the scientific day stimulates the students ‘ ideas and talents in a supportive academic environment that fosters the spirit of innovation and excellence.
The most prominent projects were:
Modern three-dimensional printing technologies in pharmaceutics
Treatment strategies for obesity
Microbial contamination in mate samples
Modern nanotechnology- based approach for the management of diabetes
Gut microbiome and its relationship to diabetes
This event is part of a series of activities organized by the university to develop the educational and research process and build bridges of communication between students and faculty members, thus contributing to the preparation of an academic generation capable of keeping pace with scientific and professional developments and contributing effectively to serving the community.
