On the occasion of Liberation Day, Faculty of Medicine in cooperation with the Doctors’ Syndicate and Students’ Union have organized a practical training on first aid with an elite of specialized doctors.
The training, which has started today and continues till Thursday under the supervision of doctors, includes managing unconscious people, treating fractures, controlling bleeding, dealing with burns, and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, has indicated to the importance of such training in refining students’ scientific and practical skills, stressing the university’s keenness to provide an integrated educational environment that combines the theoretical aspect and practical experience, and enhances the students’ ability to intervene quickly and effectively in emergency situations in a way that directly serves the community.
Dean of the Faculty of Medcince, Prof. Talal Haboush, has pointed out that the training is a unique opportunity for students to deal with emergency cases in an atmosphere closer to reality, noting that the supervision of a select group of experienced doctors ensures the delivery of skills and information in a scientific and applied manner.
In addition, he has emphasized that such initiatives contribute to spreading the culture of safety and first aid among students, and qualifying them to effectively deal with critical cases.
This training comes as part of Homs University’s efforts to enhance the scientific and practical capabilities of its students and raise the level of health awareness in the community.
