A coordination meeting with representatives of the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) was held at Homs University to discuss a joint collaboration project aimed at supporting the educational and training process at the Faculty of Dentistry and developing the infrastructure of educational clinics, so as to sign an official agreement after the completion of the administrative and technical procedures by both parties.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, has emphasized that the meeting is an important step in developing the faculty and strengthening partnerships with international medical institutions. He has also noted that the anticipated cooperation with SAMS aims to raise the level of clinical training for students and graduates and meet the community’s need for qualified medical personnel.
The faculty dean, prof. Qusai Al Munajjid, has explained that the two sides have discussed the operating mechanisms of the educational clinics which comprise three units, as the university is committed to provide teaching staff and full academic supervision in cooperation with the society.
Dr. Samer Hajlawi, Chairman of the Dental Committee at SAMS, stated that the society expressed its willingness to equip and operate the first unit of the dental clinic, provide medical materials, and contribute to the operation of the third unit in cooperation with university staff. He has also emphasized the society’s commitment to providing the necessary technical support and organizing training workshops that contribute to developing the clinical skills of students and graduates.
The meeting concluded with a preliminary agreement to proceed with the completion of necessary arrangements for signing the cooperation agreement in the next phase.
