The Higher Institute of Languages in Homs University has organized the foreign language test (English and French) for enrolling in PhDs, with the participation of 118 students from various faculties and higher institutes. The test has been conducted in the institute’s halls according to the approved standards to ensure fairness and transparency, under the supervision of specialized academic and administrative staff.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, has indicated that the test is an essential step for doctoral students, as it assesses their language proficiency that help in keeping up with current references and understanding world’s scientific literature. In addition, he has explained that enhancing researchers’ linguistic competencies directly impacts the quality of their research and scientific output, wishing all applicants every success.
For his part, Dean of the Higher Institute of Languages, Prof. Muhammad Al-Ali, has explained that the organization process has been carried out with great precision, starting from the registration of applicants until their distribution to the halls, pointing out that the number of applicants for the English language exam reached (114) and (4) for the French language. He has also pointed out that the number of applicants reflects the increasing interest in postgraduate studies and that the university provides the comfortable examination environment
