The Faculty of Health Sciences in cooperation with the Student Union an intensive specialized training camp during the midterm holiday, targeting students of physical therapy, therapeutic nutrition and laboratory sciences.
President of Homs Unviersity, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, affirmed that the training is part of the university’ plan to enhance applied skills and build capacities that possess modern diagnostic and treatment tools, going beyond the traditional theoretical framework.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Salah Ghazi, explained that the program simulated actual clinical challenges, with a focus on developing medical decision-making skills according to the latest protocols, noting the role of the student body in identifying training needs and coordinating scientific paths.
The camp included a course on “3D Treatment for Scoliosis – Schroth Technique” in physical therapy, supervised by Prof. Salah Ghazi, which focused on skills for assessing the condition and developing advanced treatment plans, and a course on “Applications of Therapeutic Nutrition – Level One” for third and fourth year students, supervised by nutritionist Salam Muati, which included the basics of modern nutrition and writing diets professionally, in addition to training on “The Importance of Medical Tests in Laboratory Diagnosis,” supervised by Bassam Kalalib and Tarik Ramdoun, which dealt with laboratory qualification and linking clinical cases to laboratory results to raise the level of professional performance, with an emphasis on linking clinical data and laboratory results.
The implementation of the camp comes within the framework of the university’s keenness to develop educational outcomes and qualify health personnel capable of keeping pace with professional developments.
