Homs University has opened dedicated support and guidance centers to receive and assist secondary school certificate holders during the application process for university admission sorting for the 2026–2027 academic year. These centers provide students with the necessary technical support and guidance to complete their electronic procedures and select their academic preferences according to the specified conditions.
The centers receive students from Sunday, October 4, 2026, until Monday, October 19, 2026, daily from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., except on Fridays and Saturdays. The locations include the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Informatics Engineering, and the Network Management Center at the Faculty of Science as technical support and student guidance centers, alongside the Central Directorate of Student Affairs as a designated center for Arab, foreign, and disabled students.
The centers have been equipped with internet access points and specialized technical and advisory teams to assist students with data entry, ranking their academic choices, and reviewing application steps, ensuring their applications are submitted accurately and smoothly.
The President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, affirmed that the university has provided all necessary support centers and qualified staff to assist students during the admission process, help them navigate electronic procedures, and verify their data and ranked preferences. He emphasized the importance of thoroughly reading the conditions and minimum requirements outlined in the admission announcement before submitting the final application card. He also highlighted that one of the most prominent updates at Homs University this year is the opening of the Faculty of Sharia, offering a new academic path for prospective students, noting that the university is fully prepared to welcome students and familiarize them with all available majors and opportunities within the admission process.
Students can modify their preferences multiple times during the application period as long as their application card is not yet registered. If there is an error in the data or if they wish to make a change, they can utilize the support centers available during the application period. If a student registers their application card and then wishes to modify it during the application period, they can cancel the registration electronically, pay the re-registration fee of 500 Syrian pounds, make the necessary changes, and re-register their card. All applications are automatically registered upon the application period’s conclusion, even if the student did not register them themselves. The option to cancel an application card electronically is available for one day only after the registration period ends. Cancellation is final, and students are no longer entitled to request adjustments to their status or admission based on a canceled application card. The university president stressed the importance of taking one’s time in choosing preferences, and including a sufficient number of options that meet the students’ requirements in all the admission processes. He also noted that a student whose preferences are rejected will not have their situation rectified and will not be accepted into any preference, even if they meet the admission requirements. He called on students to take advantage of the support centers and the staff available there when needed, which will help them complete the required procedures and choose their academic options accurately, wishing everyone success.
