In cooperation with the Moscow State University of Technology (STANKIN), Al Baath University organized the second multidisciplinary Olympiad of the Russian language for students of schools and universities in the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, with the participation of approximately 170 students.
President of Al Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, indicated to the importance of the Olympiad in improving the skills and knowledge of students in Russian language, as it consists of 5 levels and the questions are put by the Moscow State University of Technology (STANKIN). In addition, it involves students of the schools, the Higher Institute of Languages and the Syrian-Russian Center (Stankin) at Al Baath University. Each participant receives a certificate of participation and the top-ranked ones receive a certificate of excellence, with the possibility of making a competition between the winners to obtain university scholarships from Russia . President of the Moscow State University of Technology (STANKIN), Prof. Vladimir Serbrani, emphasized that this Olympiad is a bridge of communication between the Syrian and Russian cultures, wishing the continuation of these activities and events that contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
Participating students were happy to participate in the Olympics and to have the opportunity of improving their Russian language and knowledge so they can benefit from it in the future in teaching and obtaining scholarships. Moreover, it is a good chance to learn about a new culture.
