In order to highlight the latest innovations, technologies and methods in the field of mathematics, the third international conference was opened at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
President of Al-Baath University, Prof. Abdul Basit Al Khatib, has indicated that the conference is important because it provides the opportunity for researchers and students to meet and exchange the results of mathematics researches. He has also pointed out that the lectures of the conference present the latest findings on contemporary mathematics and their role in serving other sciences such as medicine, health, financial sciences and renewable energy.
Dean of the Faculty of Science, Pro. Haitham Farah, has stressed that holding such conferences is essential to keep abreast of the latest developments in scientific specializations and to provide society with scientific achievements, noting that the conference includes multiple axes intended to find solutions to real problems according to scientific standards and visions.
Dean of the Second Faculty of Education and the coordinator of the conference, Prof. Basil Arnous, has referred that the department of mathematics plays an important role in developing scientific research and enhancing understanding of mathematical sciences and their applications. Moreover, he has indicated that 52 researches are discussed in the conference

The conference activities continue for two days and include three axes: pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and professional preparation for mathematics teachers. To enhance cooperation and communication between scientists and researchers in various fields of mathematics, the conference provides a platform for presenting new research and studies and exchanging experience.
The opening of the conference was attended by Prof. Adnan Al Sheikh Hamoud, the member of party leadership at the university branch, Prof. Mahmoud Hadid and Prof. Maan Salameh, the university vice-presidents , Prof. Abdul Razzaq Al Sufi, the head of the teachers’ union, the deans of faculties , and some officials from unions and popular organizations at the university.
