Homs University completes final preparations for launching the 12th collegiate programming contest with the participation of 29 teams from the different faculties.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, has indicated that this contest is one of the most prominent scientific events that fall within the university efforts to promote innovation and develop students’ applied skills. In addition, he has explained that this type of activity contributes to the development of analytical thinking and teamwork, adding that the contest is based on programming challenges derived from real-life problems, which strengthens the connection between technical skills and practical applications that serve society. Prof. Houssam ElDeen has pointed out that the preparations involved equipping the technical infrastructure, including communication networks, computers, and the software environment. He has emphasized that the organizational teams have finalized all needed preparations for the smooth running of the contest, in parallel with allocating a trial day to avoid any technical or logistical obstacles.
For his part, the vice dean of the Faculty of Informatics Engineering and the general coordinator of the contest, Prof. Muhammed Rabie Shaheen, has stated that the preparations included various organizational and technical aspects. In addition, he has noted that the participating teams had intensive training since the beginning of the academic year and that the contest is held according to the highest standards adopted in collegiate programming contest, stressing that the university seeks to instill a culture of positive contest and stimulate programming creativity among students
