A doctoral dissertation entitled “Studying the magnetic properties and phase transitions of two-dimensional magnetic models based on simulation and comparing them with applied results” was discussed by the researcher Nabil Girgis Roumieh at the Faculty of Science
,
under the supervision of Prof. Hasan Al-Mukaddam.
The judging panel comprised the following professors:
Prof. Hasan Al-Mukaddam, Prof. Walid Sahioni , Prof. Hasan Al-Mukaddam, Prof. Hasan Suleiman, Prof. Abdullah Rastanawi, and Prof. Farhan Yassin
The research aims to study two-dimensional magnetic models using simulation techniques.
The results showed the following:
1-Determining the Curie temperature of ferromagnetic materials.
2- Observing first-type phase transitions in ferromagnetic materials.
3- No phase transitions occur in antiferromagnetic materials when weak magnetic fields are applied.
4- Determine the Curie temperature of the phase transition to the paramagnetic state.
5- Antiferromagnetic materials are characterized by the presence of a single phase transition.
6- The crystallization model plays a fundamental role in determining the phase transition temperature.
7- The effects of small magnetic fields appear in ferromagnetic materials.
8- The importance of determining the magnetic saturation limits of materials used in various technical applications (generators, motors, magnetic storage devices, etc.) is highlighted.
At the end of the discussion, the researcher Nabil Girgis Roumieh was awarded a doctoral degree in physics with distinction.
