The Faculty of Dentistry at Homs University, in collaboration with Zahrat Dent Company, held a scientific day entitled “Periodontal Diseases and Dental Implants”. The event was attended by the university vice-president for scientific affairs, Prof. Walid Khaddam, the faculty deans, teaching staff members, and the dental syndicate branch in the university, in addition to specialists, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and a number of dental practitioners.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, indicated that the scientific meeting reflects the university’s leading role in supporting scientific research and developing the skills of students and doctors in line with the latest scientific developments. He also explained that periodontal diseases and dental implants represent an increasing challenge for practitioners and researchers in terms of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, and that such events combine theoretical and practical aspects and open up horizons for discussion and exchange of experiences.
For his part, the faculty dean, Prof. Qusai Al Munajjid, pointed out that the scientific day is the first academic activity after the liberation, and comes within the framework of the faculty’s plan to link academic knowledge with practical application. In addition, he noted that hosting specialists from inside and outside Syria in the field of dental implants provides students and doctors with the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and enhance their skills in line with the requirements of the labor market.
The exhibition coordinator, Dr. Nouri Zahra, added that the event represents an important opportunity for students, doctors, and practitioners to find out the latest global devices and technologies in the fields of implants, surgery, and endodontics in cooperation with Zahra Dent, Sama Dent, and Optho Technology

The scientific day concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing such meetings to keep pace with the latest research and clinical developments and support the exchange of expertise between academics and practitioners, thus enhancing the quality of medical education and healthcare services provided to the community.
