Faculty of Informatics Engineering, in cooperation with the Stuents’Union, held an introductory session on the “Building a Thousand Software Developers” initiative, in celebration of the Liberation Day and the victory of the revolution, at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
The initiative aims to empower Syrian youth in the field of software, and open new horizons for them in the digital labor market, through specialized training programs that include : cybersecurity, data science, artificial intelligence, and software engineering.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, has emphasized that the Faculty of Informatics Engineering enjoys a distinguished position in the university, given its pivotal role in preparing a digital generation capable of leading the technological transformation in Syria, and stressed the university’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the role of youth in building the nation
.
The faculty dean, Prof. Naif Al-Haj Younes, has explained that choosing this particular day to launch the initiative carries a deep symbolic significance, as it represents a launch towards a new Syria, in which horizons of creativity and excellence are opened, and the digital future are shaped in a manner that fits the aspirations of the youth.
The vice-dean for scientific affairs, Prof. Rabie Shahan, has indicated that the initiative is directed to students of informatics engineering, graduates, and all those interested in the programming field. Its goal is to hone talents and transform theoretical concepts into practical applications that serve students in the job market.
Many students also expressed their aspirations that this initiative would be a turning point in their academic and professional careers, and a real opportunity to confidently engage in the world of software.
