A doctoral dissertation entitled “The effect of using zinc, iron and molybdenum nanoparticles on some microbiological and chemical properties of the soil and the productivity of winter chickpeas in the conditions of Homs Governorate” was discussed by the researcher Yamen Muhammad Al-Hassan at the Faculty of Agriculture, under the supervision of Prof. Abdullah Al-Issa and Prof. Mahmoud Al-Hamdan .
The judging panel comprised the following professors: Prof. Abdullah Al-Issa, Prof. Samir Shamsham, Prof. Nada Mahfouz, Prof. Abdul Hakim Al-Qasham, and Prof. Muhammad Manhal Al-Zoubi.
The importance of this study stems from the scarcity of field research examining the impact of minor element nanoparticles on soil microbial communities, particularly under semi-arid fertilized conditions. Given the strategic importance of chickpea as a staple food crop and leguminous plant that enhances soil fertility, it is imperative to develop sustainable and effective fertilization programs.
At the end of the discussion, the researcher was awarded a PhD in Agricultural Engineering (specializing in soil and land reclamation) with distinction.
