The Faculty of Health Sciences at Homs University, in cooperation with Al-Raja Association for People with Disabilities, organized a free training course entitled “Modern Methods for Treating Children with Cerebral Palsy”, with the participation of students and graduates of the physical therapy department, with the purpose of enhancing their practical skills and keeping updated with the modern and accredited treating and qualifying methods in this field.
The training program lasts for three months, including a month dedicated to the graduates of the internship year and two months for the undergraduate students. It takes place at the association’s headquarters in the Al-Waer neighborhood and includes theoretical and applied training on different kinds of cerebral palsy.
The university president, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, emphasized that the university focuses on developing the practical skills of its students and graduates and strengthening cooperation with local community institutions, in a manner that contributes to preparing qualified health cadres that meet the needs of the health sector.
The faculty dean, Prof. Salah Ghazi, pointed out that the course provides participants with specialized practical skills in the field of qualifying children with cerebral palsy and upgrades their professional readiness. The head of the association, Mr. Basel Al-Housami, referred to the importance of partnership with Homs University and the support of initiatives aimed at serving the community, caring for, and qualifying children with disabilities.
This course comes within the framework of cooperation between Homs University and Al-Raja Association and the activation of mutual training programs aiming at linking academic education with practical experience in health fields.
