Within the framework of enhancing academic relations and expanding scientific and research cooperation, the Homs University and Hadhramout University in the Republic of Yemen signed the renewal of joint scientific cooperation agreement signed between them since 2003. The session began with the presidents of both universities presenting a comprehensive overview of each institution, covering its academic history, scientific and research specializations, affiliated colleges and centers, as well as highlighting areas of excellence and the educational programs each offers to students and researchers.
The renewed agreement includes provisions for enhancing the exchange of documents and information, conducting joint strategic scientific research, mutual supervision of graduate theses, as well as exchanging visits for teaching staff and students, and training academic and administrative staff between the two universities.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, affirmed that renewing this agreement represents a fundamental step in the university’s strategy towards enhancing academic openness and exchanging experiences with sister Arab universities. He pointed out that Homs University is keen to provide all facilities and scientific and research capabilities to ensure the success of this cooperation, especially in the areas of joint supervision of postgraduate theses, exchange of faculty members and students, and exchange of scientific publication and authorship, in a way that serves the development of the educational process and supports the scientific research journey in both countries.
