The Faculty of Dentistry at Homs University continues its free medical week under the title “Basmet Amal” as part of the medical relief campaign, in cooperation with the Syrian British Medical Society (SBMS).
The campaign aims to enhance humanitarian health efforts, provide free medical support to those in need, and strengthen academic and humanitarian cooperation between medical institutions inside and outside Syria. The treatment week seeks to connect academic side with practical medical reality by offering specialized medical services in the fields of endodontic and restorative treatment, pediatric dental treatment, and periodontal treatments.
Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Qusay Al-Munjed, explained that the campaign primarily targets the most affected cases, including families of the wounded, displaced, and injured. He emphasized that some of the necessary equipment and materials have been secured to ensure that the required care is provided.
For his part, Dr. Tamam Al-Boushi Adi, the campaign founder, explained that the primary objective of launching the campaign is to foster the culture of self-volunteer work among doctors as a start to launch free volunteer medical campaigns in the future. It also aims to embody an effective model for the integration between academic effort and humanitarian work, thus contributing to strengthening the values of giving and social responsibility within the medical community.
It is worth noting that more than ten doctors selected by the deanship of the faculty participated in the campaign.
