The university Vice-President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Waleed Khaddam, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Talal Habboush, inspected the second session of the unified medical exam conducted by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation at Homs University center.
The unified national medical exam is a basic requirement for sixth-year students in the faculties of medicine, and for those wishing to apply for postgraduate studies in Syrian public and private universities and non-Syrian universities.
Prof. Khaddam explained that the second session of the exam included 120 questions covering surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, ophthalmology, and otology. He also noted that the number of students who took the exam at Homs University center was 506, including 406 students from the university and 100 students from private universities.
It is worth noting that a student is considered successful and fulfills the graduation requirement in Syrian public and private universities if he obtains a minimum grade of 60%. The student also benefits from exam assistance of only two marks.
