The Faculty of Health Science has organized a scientific lectures entitled” The new development in obesity management ” in the presence of a number of teaching staff, students, and those interested in health matters.
The lecture was presented by Dr. Abdul mannan Fadel from the United Arab Emirates University, in which he reviewed the recent scientific and medical methods globally adopted in the diagnosis and treatment of obesity, focusing on the modern approaches that combine drug treatment, therapeutic nutrition and lifestyle modification, in addition to the role of prevention and health awareness for the community, especially in childhood.
President of Homs University, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, has indicated that the university pays great attention to organizing such events that keep pace with the modern developments in the medical and health fields, noting that obesity is one of the most prominent challenges in the recent time.
For his part, the faculty dean, Prof. Salah Ghazi, has pointed out that the lecture is part of the faculty’s plan to raise the scientific and applied level of students and to link the academic knowledge with the actual health challenges, stressing the faculty’s keenness to enhance scientific communication with Arab and international academic expertise and provide students with the latest scientific knowledge, which contributes to building their professional competencies and qualifying them to deal with common health issues such as obesity, given its serious repercussions on the health of the individual and society.
