The Homs Chamber of Commerce adopts outstanding student projects from the Information and Communication Technology Incubator at Homs University
Within the framework of enhancing integration between the academic sector and economic sector, Homs Chamber of Commerce adopts
The university president, Prof. Tarek Houssam El-Deen, indicated to the university role in embracing the entrepreneurial initiatives and supporting innovation environments, emphasizing the university’ keenness to provide academic atmosphere suitable for technological incubators, thereby contributing to linking the higher education outcomes with the labor market needs and improving the opportunities of employing graduates through their own projects.
The incubator’s director, Eng. Hala Jahjah, pointed out that projects are selected by consultants with the purpose of connecting students with the local community and promoting cooperation with economic actors, so as to choose investors for the outstanding projects and establishing startups.
The Director of the Onsur Association, Prof. Mazen Najib, affirmed that the fundamental goal of this process is to transform student innovations from mere academic graduation projects into real products capable of competing in the market and raising the level of the national economy
Dr. Muhammad Bashar Al-Sibai, a member of the Homs Chamber of Commerce, indicated that the Chamber pays great attention to adopting the energies of the younger generation, stressing that the acceptance criteria are based primarily on the service value to the community and the economic feasibility for the financier.
This cooperation comes within the framework of strengthening the partnership between Homs University and economic activities, in order to support the transformation of knowledge and modern technologies into productive projects with a sustainable developmental impact.
