The Faculty of Health Science in cooperation with the the Syrian American Society of Nutrition has concluded the activities of the second international conference “Our food is our medicine”, with the participation of researchers from outside and inside Syria, providing scientific sessions that address the latest developments in nutrition and public health. The university president, Prof. Tarek Houssam ElDeen, has presented certificates of appreciation to the participant researchers for their efforts and scientific contributions.
The faculty dean, Prof. Salah Ghazi, has confirmed that the conference falls within the university’s orientation to enhance the applied scientific research and link it with the health needs of society, so as to support the preventative concepts and therapeutic intervention based on nutrition.

The researcher Lubnan Al-Kasab from the British University of Edinburgh delivered a lecture on the sustainable nutrition, in which she discussed the fundamentals of food production in a way that promotes the sustainability of natural resources and food security, while emphasizing the importance of integrating this concept into educational policies.
In the area of therapeutic nutrition, specialist Dalia Hussamo from the American Society for Nutrition discussed the role of dietary systems in alleviating the symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome, explaining that nutritional intervention contributes to improving insulin resistance and hormonal balance

The conference included scientific sessions and specialized workshops that focused on the latest research in nutrition and public health, promoting integration between academic research and practical application.
