The Faculty of Pharmacy in cooperation with the Experience House Center and under the coordination of the Quality Assurance Center, organized a free training course entitled “Quality management system in pharmaceutical laboratories”, from the 7th to the 11th of this month.
The training course targeted pharmacy students and took nine hours, divided into three sessions with rich scientific and practical content. It focused on providing participants with the quality management skills necessary for working in modern pharmaceutical laboratories, in order to enhance their professional competencies and resumes through professional training experience.
Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy , Prof. Walid Khaddam, emphasized that organizing such courses, in which about 100 students participated , comes within the context of linking academic courses with practical application and preparing students for the requirements of the pharmaceutical labor market, especially in light of the ongoing expansion of the pharmaceutical industry locally and regionally. He also emphasized the importance of integrating quality concepts into pharmaceutical training as a cornerstone for producing safe and effective medicines.
For his part, Director of the Experience House Center, Prof. Haitham Al-Tadmouri, explained that the course aimed to educate students on the importance of the international standard ISO 9001, which is one of the most widely applied quality management systems in the world due to its pivotal role in enhancing customer satisfaction, identifying internal resources within organizations, and developing process approaches and internal auditing.
In addition, he stressed that the course concentrated on explaining the quality management principles on which the standard is based, with a focus on its applications in pharmaceutical companies, and introducing the concept of quality control as one of the most important pillars of success in the pharmaceutical industry.
A number of participating students expressed their great satisfaction with the level and practical content of the course, stating that it helped them understand how to relate academic concepts to practical reality in pharmaceutical laboratories. Moreover, they affirmed their desire to participate in similar training programs in the future.
